What is Aerial Yoga?
Aerial yoga is a playful, powerful fusion of traditional yoga, pilates, dance, and aerial arts. Using a soft fabric hammock suspended from the ceiling, you’ll explore familiar yoga postures in entirely new ways — sometimes fully supported, sometimes floating just above the ground, and sometimes completely upside down.
Whether you’re brand new to yoga or a seasoned mover, aerial yoga invites you to build strength, flexibility, and body awareness — all while having fun in the air.
Why Try Aerial Yoga?
Feel lighter, stronger, and more connected to your body.
The hammock acts as both a support and a challenge, helping you:
Improve posture and spinal alignment
Release tension, especially in the back and shoulders
Increase core strength and mobility
Build confidence and reduce fear of movement
Experience deep relaxation in gentle, weightless poses
You don’t need any prior experience to start — just curiosity and a willingness to try something new.
Aerial yoga emerged in the early 2000s as an innovative way to combine the grounding elements of yoga with the freedom of aerial movement. It’s often credited to yoga and circus practitioners in New York. Since then, it has evolved into a global practice with many styles — from fitness-based to meditative and restorative.
At our studio in Berlin-Neukölln, we focus on accessible, creative, and supportive classes for all levels. We believe aerial yoga is not about perfect poses, but about connecting to your body, breath, and joy in movement.
We offer two distinct aerial experiences to support your body and mind in different ways:
Aerial Yoga is energizing and dynamic — combining strength-building, deep stretching, and playful movement in the air. You’ll float, invert, and move through creative sequences that improve mobility, core stability, and confidence.
Aerial Yin Yoga, on the other hand, is slow, gentle, and deeply restorative. Practiced close to the ground in a low hammock, it invites you to soften into long-held poses, releasing tension in the fascia and calming the nervous system. It's perfect for finding stillness, grounding, and deep relaxation.
Whether you're looking to feel strong and uplifted, or relaxed and grounded, there's a class to meet you where you are.
